In a nutshell...

The main character, the player character, the center stage guy, if you will. He's a Tabbian from the Jehovian Islands southwest of the mainland of Tetra. He moved to Lilycove City in order to go to college for game design, but he ended up getting roped into vigilante work, collecting Star Shards from people who find them and start causing trouble. His partner and buddy Comet (old version) assists him in this. He's also the founder of a group of people that do the same, named NERD Union. (He's still not sure why it's named that.)

What exactly is up with this guy?

Early Life

Like most Tabbians, he grew up on the Jehovian Islands, a tropical island off the coast, southwest of where Tetra is on the mainland. Pretty chill place, really! Spent a lot of his childhood climbing trees and getting coconuts or fruits. Having a pretty sizeable metabolism kinda keeps you hungry and exerting energy walking everywhere and climbing stuff adds to it. Kind of a cat thing, climbing trees, eh? :P He had a few friends there growing up, his bestie being Lunis Fey. Lunis had moved in from elsewhere to the islands and had a bit of trouble fitting in. Kenny had no problem taking him under his wing. or, err... whatever the cat equivalent of that saying is.

Even though he's relatively lazy, he actually really likes to explore and the outdoors and such. He'll even play the occasional sport. It's really the heat and the bugs that gets 'em to stay indoors. He loves the snow, though, mostly because it's an excuse to wear hoodies and jackets. At any rate, he's lazy, but he does have bursts of energy and likes to do more active stuff. Maybe if he got more exercise, he'd have more energy longer, but eh. College life.

Though he won't admit it, is a bit of an adrenaline junkie. He likes to get reckless with it. He'd actually love to go to space sometime. (And given his current situation, maybe he'll have to. Who knows?) He's normally pretty laid back. He doesn't take too much too seriously, unless it's a social situation. Then he's about as awkward as walking in a circle on a crowded elevator for 20 floors. His sense of humor is a bit snarky, but he means well, he swears. He'll laugh at most goofs and jokes. Likes to play videogames. He's mostly a fan of indie games, but he's not picky at all. If it's fun, he'll play it, man!  Loves to eat food. Mostly of the Asian persuasion... err, the Elienian equivalent of which anyways. He's actually got one heck of a metabolism. Like, he could eat a 12 piece chicken bucket and not gain a pound... including the potatoes.   Going back to sports, local Streetkart Racing is a recent interest. Though he doesn't own a Streekart, he and Paku Lampley work together to take on a few races here and there. Paku builds it and maintains it and Kenny drives it and (hopefully) wins.

...He also will watch eSports sometimes. Just to see how the pros git gud. He's a little embarrased about it, but it's one of the competitive things he really enjoys.

Cool, but... No, I mean, why is he wielding a toy gun and a baseball bat.

Oh! That. Yes! He uses those in his vigilante work, fighting the mob, creatures of the planet corrupted by Flux, other worldly beings forged in the same chaotic energy and ordinary people with unordinary powers bestowed unto them by their wish made upon a fallen and found Star Shard. He battles all of these in order to undo the wish and set the world back in motion and hopefully, just hopefully he'll be able to go to college once this is done.

Lore

Events of NERD Union: Start

Kenny is the new guy that just moved to Lilycove City. Inexperienced at life in general, he set out from his cozy and safe home in the Jehovian Islands to go to college and make some fun stuff!   ...Well, at least that was the plan until he met Devon. How was he supposed to know he was the son of a local mob boss?   After a few weeks of getting used to the area and ~mysteriously~ losing all his tuition money, he's now stuck doing freelance oddjobs around Tetra City for mortgage money. What can ya do?   ...Well, a lot more, apparently. Because after a few months of that, he finds a fallen... star... kid thing named Comet (old version), during a spontaneous meteor shower during winter. One thing lead to another and now he's a freelance... vigilante, he supposes, collecting these things called Star Shards to help Comet get home and set things right and then hopefully go to college. Maybe. We'll see.

Personal History

Kenny has had mostly relaxed life with childhood adventure. He spent a lot of time handing out with a childhood best friend of his, Lunis Fey , playing videogames, exploring around the Jehovian Islands. They favored the beach side caves around there, as they were totally sure they were haunted. Totally. Not really a bad ghost, but a really mischievous one. They were set on pranking the ghost at least once. Never really did. It's hard, man! Ghosts are sneaky!   There is a moment in Kenny's life, though, that were quite traumatizing.

Spoiler

He and Lunis Fey was often bullied and Kenny would take it upon himself to try protect both of them. He often would fail, leaving them beaten up and probably a loss of something of theirs. Kenny got better at it over time and eventually could fend them off well enough. Naturally, they didn't care for that. An example had to be made. Their leader ended up pulling a knife on Kenny. Lunis, normally the timid one, stepped up to defend Kenny, holding the one with the knife back. They didn't expect that, so it worked... for a moment. The leader broke free and swung at Lunis, cutting him on the neck and unfortunately cutting the vital vein. In short, a death blow. Kenny, not noticing this right away in a fit of zealous anger, ended up breaking the bully's arms backwards. One of those "seeing red" moments, if you get what that is. Naturally, this incident was enough to make the attacks stop, but it kind of messed Kenny up for a while when he snapped out of it. By the time it was over, Lunis had already lost a lot of blood. Given they were a bit of the ways into the wilderness, Lunis ended up dying from blood loss before he could get him back to safety. He ended up blaming himself for it all. Nevertheless, this is why Kenny has a duty to himself to stick up for people and how he finds strength to keep at it, against all odds.

Accomplishments & Achievements

He once won a local gaming tournament! Walked away with a solid 500 Granules for it. (That's about $500 in US monies... err, well, unless the economy tanks after I write this... uh, let's say it's enough to buy a decent PC.)

Failures & Embarrassments

Kenny would get beat up quite a bit as a kid. He's always found that a bit embarrassing that he's wasn't too strong then.

Mental Trauma

ADHD - It's relatively minor, but it does lead him to forgetting things, hence why he makes liberal use of reminders on his Smartphone.   He also has a bit of a temper if he gets to zealous. Also, the spoiler above.

Taboos

You can pick on him all you want, just don't pick on someone else while he's around. He dun like that. Also, don't waste food. He'll totally eat it. Seriously, don't throw that away.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation #WIP

His motivation for going on this whole "Freelance Vigilante" deal is mostly out of circumstance and obligation to help Comet (old version) out, at first out of curiosity due to a dream he has where a voice of some sort told him about a cataclysmic event of some kind happening involving a star that can grant the wishes of people and it's destruction, the shards from that star raining down and being used for wishes, the risk of Flux generation and that if someone figures out and get Comet, they could wish for something potentially universe ending. This also kind of serves as a "call to action" and gives Kenny a run down of how to handle himself in conjunction with Comet's powers on his adventure.

That and, given his past, he wouldn't want to let someone fall prey to anyone, let alone a kid. After the first big battle he has with Neptune Jr, he gets a bit spooked by the prospect of just anyone getting access to that level of power. This is compounded after the second big battle with Roxanne Rhodes, because it's one thing to have some kid get power... it's another if someone older, or Creator forbid someone already powerful or smart, get a big enough Star Shard to do something devastating.   Later on, though, he becomes more confident and sees how his actions make a difference on the city. He also feels he's got to get all this fixed up so Comet (old version) can go home proper before someone captures him and gets access to power that could potentially end the universe. In short, if he doesn't, someone else is gonna ruin things. Probably Devon, he assumes.   So, in time, he warms up to just doing it because he gets more purpose out of trying to help up on this large scale than with what he's doing now and hey, he'd want a friend to help him get home if he was lost, right?... and if he doesn't, then whatever he ends up doing after won't matter, because odds are, the world will end.

Social Situations --

Likes & Dislikes

Loves videogames and food, especially at the same time.
Likes sporty clothes, sukajans and hoodies. Also, cold weather.
Dislikes hot weather.
Hates injustice, prejudice, general a-hole behavior.

Virtues & Personality perks

You can pick on him all you want, but he's extremely protective of other people.

Vices & Personality flaws

Caffeine addict, anger issues, lazy. (You can totally be energetic and lazy.)

Social

Social Quirks

Says "Mya?" on occasion instead of saying "Huh?" or "What?" or when surprised or startled. Occasionally you can catch him holing his ring finger down and trying to raise his ring finger straight up.

Contacts & Relations

Paku Lampley is a local friend of his. They have a lot of common interests.
Comet (old version) seems pretty cool, too, but he is kind of the reason he's risking his neck for these shards.
Devon Greystone... it'ssss a bit complicated. Rivals/friends.
Lunis Fey, best friend from his hometown.

Family Ties

Most of his family live on Jehovian Islands. His mom and his grandparents live there. His dad, on the other hand, is usually off on business trips, usually keeping in touch via video phones or online messaging and the like.

Social Aptitude

Relatively introverted. Average charisma. Kind of clumsy in a lot of situations. Socially awkward. Kind of a short attention span, due to being ADHD.

Mannerisms

He usually will talk to most people he doesn't know with his hands in his pockets, kind of facing off center. If he does know you well, he'll open up a bit more and use a lot of goofy hand gestures and such.

Hobbies & Pets

Like pretty much any videogame you put in front of 'em. He's not a "hardcore" gamer, but he's a gamer none the less, favoring indie titles. He also has an electric guitar that he's trying to teach himself to play on occasion. Likes the occasional sport, but isn't terribly competitve. He likes plushies, but he only owns one so far, because he didn't want to freak out his mom and have her wonder why or something. Eh.

No pets, though, yet.

Speech

Normal speech patterns, a bit higher up in tone for his age. Tries not to swear, but given online gaming conversations and how they go, it rubs off on you. Usually greets you with a "Heyas" or "Hoy". Will totally say "mya" if you manage to spook 'em.
