Arcanium

#WIP

Arcanium is a rare metal used to make Arcanium Frames to create Arcane Items in Arcane Forgery. It's really resilient, durable and can conduct and contain large amounts of Arcenergy before reaching a "melting" point. If it does melt, it usually explodes into a gas if heated much hotter, so if it's melting, stop using it for whatever you're doing. Seriously. You will lose an arm to the explosion and magical burns are about as painful as you'd think.

Unlike Mageium, Arcanium is relatively safe to handle when using magic, but as a result it's less conductive. That being said, it can be VERY conductive if enough Arcenergy is sent through it. The big, powerful stuff is still going to need an insulating material, such as a magic resistant material like Antarcium AND anything that isn't flammable when in contact with intense heat.

As it's rare, it's highly expensive and hard to find. Metal detectors don't pick up any deposits or ores easily, thus making it a choice item if you're the kind that likes to smuggle things where they shouldn't be. (Disclaimer: do not use Arcanium to smuggle smuggleable things.) Where it's usually found in space, littered amongst asteroids and uncharted planets, a rather large deposit is also found on the planet Beubugi, albeit it's on The Chrome Stripe of the planet, an intensely sun scorched part of the planet, making it borderline suicidal to obtain.

Properties

Material Characteristics

The raw ore has swirls of light lavender and pastel indigo on a silver base. It takes huge amount of heat to melt and refine into an ingot. When in ingot form, the colors tend to mix into a silver with a sheen of the lavender/indigo. The frames made from the ingots later have the same colors.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Safe to handle. Warm to the touch, slight white luminescence. Extremely hard. Taste really acidic, like an astronomically sour candy. (Disclaimer: Do not consume Arcanium.)

Geology & Geography

No known major resource locations, other than on Beubugi in The Chrome Stripe. Other than that, it's sparsely found on asteroids in space and very rarely on planets deep in the planet crust.

History & Usage

Everyday use

Used mainly to build Magic Frames, because if you're gonna make a magic wand borderline indestructible, this is the stuff to get. It's really rare, though, as the materials are rare to begin with.
